The aim of the label is to promote the already rich artistic activities that take place in York throughout the year and build a catalogue of chamber music, choral, vocal, and instrumental, from the Renaissance to the present day. Boreas Music is committed to promoting dynamic performances of established repertoire by well-known musicians, but is also supporting new artists and new works by contemporary composers. Our first release is Dusk Songs. The disc’s title piece is the premiere recording of a commission from Kerry Andrew, a London-based musician who studied at York University and is now making a reputation as one of the most striking composers of her generation, and is performed by The Ebor Singers, one of York's leading chamber choirs.</p> </body>
